Re: itinerary revisions -take 2 This is looking better and better.
Couple of thoughts: Play Blarney by ear. You may find plenty to see and do in the Kinsale/Cobh area. Also - the sun will start setting earlier in October, so you don't want to get caught on those small winding roads on the way back to Kinsale after dark, if you can help it.
Getting to the Ferry from Killarney is really quite easy. Your B&B owner can give you more directions the morning you leave, but basically , you head towards Tralee/Listowel and then follow the signs for Tarbert. ( They even have picture signs of a boat with a car inside it )
The ferry lets you off just outside of Kilrush. From there you can take the more coastal route up to the cliffs or a bit more direct route. ( I will have to check at home for the actual route numbers)
Oct 3- land in Shannon 7:45am - drive to Bunratty B&B -sightsee and Barn Party (booked) Michele's Answer:Fine. Call Kilkenny Castle today for opening times as this will determine tomorrow.
Oct 4- Drive through Cashel (see Rock of Cashel) to Kilkenny B&B (suggestions?)- see Castle today or tommoro (10:30am – 12:45pm), St. Canice's Cathedral, Jerpoint Abbey. Michele's Answer: Fine. The walking tour of Kilkenny is very good and includes St. Canice's.
Oct 5- Visit Kells, Kilree (picinic lunch) drive to Kinsale (suggestion?) or Cobh (Seafield) - 2 nights. Michele's Answer:Fine. Kinsale B&Bs: Fernville, Kilcaw House, Woodlands House, Rocklands House.
Oct 6- sightsee around Kinsale/Cobh - see Fort Charles, James Fort, Blarney castle late-back to Kinsale/Cobv B&B Michele's Answer:Fine.
Oct 7- Drive to Killarney B&B (suggestions?)- 2 nights (Buckley’s & Sheenan's Pub) sightsee -, druids circle, Muckross house, maybe some of Kenmare. Michele's Answer: Killarney Lodge, Friar's Glen or Old Weir Lodge.

Oct 10 sightsee somewhere (suggestions?) in morning if haven’t seen all of Bunratty- drive to Bunratty by early afternoon and go to B&B & 5:30pm Medievel banquet (booked) Michele's Answer:Fine. Sightseeing: Cliffs of Moher, Aillwee Cave, Poulnabrone Dolmen, Kilmacduagh, Coole Park, King John's Castle, St. Mary's Cathedral. You can't possibly do them all. Just choose the ones of interest to you.
***www.clonmel.ie/display.asp?pg=143 has times for Rock of Cashel but they don't list October - is it more a self guided tour? or are they shut up tight and there is no entrance? It is a guided tour. Michele's Answer:They are open all year including October. No problem.
