Re: first time

Hi Bob,

It's great to hear that you will be visiting Ireland in May - my favorite month there. Given your "must see" list and the number of days you have in Ireland you probably won't be staying in any place (other than Killarney) for more than one night. If it were me, I would cut Galway and Cork from the itinerary so as to have a more relaxed trip. You can choose to do the Cliffs of Moher at either the beginning or end of your trip.

I suggest sitting down with your map of Ireland and connecting the dots to come up with an itinerary and the correct order for what you want to see and do. Remember, you must give yourselves time for sightseeing as well a driving from place to place. Once you have an itinerary that you are satisfied with, feel free to post and I will be happy to comment on it. Note: Since there are four people traveling together and you are using vouchers, you should consider having reservations (if your vouchers allow it). Otherwise, try to have reservations for your first and last nights.

There are countless travel forums on the Internet. I suggest doing a good web search to find those you may be interested in. Feel free to post any other questions you might have.

Happy travels,

Michele

Be realistic on driving times too

Hi Bob,
I just wanted to add that you need to be realistic on how long it takes to get places in Ireland. When I went the first time ( 2000) that was something that I 'knew' of , but did not really process. And trust me - you do NOT want to spend all your time driving, or hurrying to the next point on the map. ;)

Plan on about 35mph ( 40 on a REALLY good day) when looking at miles from one place to another. Also, if you are planning on stopping off at sites on the drive from A to B, give yourself time to really see them. Even a short visit can take an hour. And if you get caught up in the wandering, you wil be amazed at how time flys.

forums?????

No need to search for other forums. You just found the best that's out there. Queen Michele's is it, with Sir Bill and now I sense we have Princess Debbie helping everyone. It's awesome.

Yes Debbie, we'll make sure Michele handles the appropriate ceremonies. I'm sure we can find a castle.

Let the Ceremonies Begin

This is getting to be a royal place lately! Looks like my sword and scepter will be getting a workout. Welcome to the inner circle Princess Debbie. Sir Bill will let you know the secret handshake. A crown or tiara are optional. Do you have a castle preference for the ceremony?

Michele ;)

you bet!!!!

All business and no pleasure makes this a dull site. Let the party begin. We lift a pint of Smithwicks (not sure if spelling is correct, but it was my favorite brew) Ale to toast Debbie. Am glad Debbie accepts the title of Princess given to her by Sir Bill and Queen Michele. Okay now, let's get back to helping others.
