CHARLEVILLE FOREST CASTLE

First of all, I have to say WHAT AN IMFORMATIVE SITE THIS IS!!! My husband and I are planning a trip to Ireland next May 2004. Our plans are to spend a night in a castle. Now, I just don't want to stay in any castle...I don't want it to be "hotle-like"...so, I've been researching and came across Charleville Forest Castle in Tullamore, County Offaly. This is not a typical B&B although you can reserve rooms there and breakfast is provided. This castle is supposedly haunted and this intrigues me... apparently this castle has been featured on "Fox Scariest Places on Earth" and "Most Haunted". Why do I want to stay here??? I dunno....just think it would be cool. So...anyone out there ever heard of this place? Would appreciate any comments. Thank you!

I'm glad to hear you are enjoying my web site. I hope it helps with your trip to Ireland. May is my favorite month to visit there so I think you will enjoy it too.

I have done some research on Charleville Castle but have not stayed there myself. It sounds like a place that has really captivated your imagination. I would love to hear about your experiences when you return. Hopefully, if anyone else has actually stayed there they will post to let you know of their experiences. Otherwise, we will just have to hold our breath till your return!

Meanwhile, if I can answer any other questions you might have about your trip, feel free to post them here.

Just want to say thank you Michele for responding to my posting. Guess I really hadn't expected that you would have actually stayed there, but I do appreciate the response. Yes, this castle has captured my imagination and I know that I am taking a big chance...but what the heck....can it be that bad??? Guess, I'll certainly be letting you know....
