March - Where to find working sheepdogs ("live" or

:D Hello,

visiting March 9 - 13, 2004

Will we be likely to pass by any working as we drive up the west coast/north & into Northern Ireland?

Or are there any shows/competitions/fairs, working farms that provide demonstrations?

Also, I understand Ireland is "big" on horses. Any particular area? Any dressage shows in the 2nd week of March, same area as above mentioned?

Any recommendations where (websites)to look for this info?

Thanks.

Sheep dogs

Near Ardrahan, Co. Galway, (south and east of Galway City) we visited Rathburn Farm, a working farm with cattle sheep, horses, goats, poultry and working sheep dogs. You can have some hands-on experience, and tea in the farmhouse (after you wash those hands):rollin

sheepdogs

When we took a bus trip around The Ring of Kerry they stopped and we could pay 4 Euro to see a demo. We didn't know if we would like it or if it was worth our time - but i'm SO glad we did it - it was fascinating!! I know you can go on your own too but we were with a group.
