Anyone know of self-catering Dingle vs. Killarney Hi, I'm back with yet another question? We are trying to decide if it would be easier to stay in a self-catering vs. B&B for 6 people. Three adults and three kids. We want to stay somewhere central in order to do day trips so I'm thinking Killarney vs. Dingle. We would do a week there and spend the second week in B&B's near Galway and working our way back to Dublin. We are forgoing NI on this trip. As always, thanks for all your help. Mary
Re: Anyone know of self-catering Dingle vs. Killarney Hi Mary,
Killarney is more central than Dingle. Dingle is out on the end of a peninsula and you would have to come off the peninsula and then drive to your various day trips. These would all take longer from Dingle.
We've stayed at Lakeland Cottages in Killarney, the website is below. We've stayed there 2 in the past 5 years, so I do like them. They are out of town, so you will need to take a car or cab into the heart of Killarney.
Self-catering Michele, I think we will be staying closer to Killarney to be able to make the most of our trip. Is it too far to go to Dingle for the day if we are staying in Killarney? I have found these 2 places and I was wondering if you or anyone else has any feedback. Muckross Holiday Village or Fossa holiday suites. They are both in Killarney though not in town. Thanks for your help. Mary
You can certainly do Dingle as a day trip from Killarney. It is very doable. I don't have any feedback on the places you mentioned. It is just too difficult for me to inspect self-catering places too. However, I suggest getting a 4-star unit. It may cost just a tiny bit more but if you are staying put for seven days you will want to be in a nice place.
