Lighthouses Hi, everyone. As time gets closer for our trip, I keep getting thunderminds (brainstorms) of things I'd like to do in Ireland. I have never been to a lighthouse, and I'd love to go to one that I could go inside. We will be in the Dingle area and in Carlingford on the eastern side of Ireland. Any suggestions?

Re: Lighthouses Twanda:
There is a lighthouse very close to Carlingford (you can find it on viamichelin). The lighthouse at Hook Head is reputed to be one of the oldest continuously existing louthouses in Europe. You can find out about it at www.thehook-wexford.com/h...house1.htm It's up the coast near Wexford.
I don't know of any lighthouses that you can tour on the Dingle peninsula.

Re: Lighthouses Thanks for the information. I went to their website and it looks great. But I think it is a long way from Carlingford. Carlingford is about an hour north of Dublin in County Louth. However, we might go the the lighthouse on our way from Dingle to Carlingford. Marsha

Re: Lighthouses Yikes, I lost my mind when I look at the tiny picture on viamichelin and thought I was looking at Dungarven, not Dundalk. I don't know where my mind went. Sorry about that.
