Ireland from England My next door neighbor has graciously offered his flat in Sandbanks, England to us whenever we want to go. It's on the south coast by Poole. I wondered if anyone has made their way back and forth from those parts to Ireland - how long it takes and if it's worth it. It is so near the ferry to go to France too-so? I'm just bot sure how close everything really is. thanks for any help

jealous just kidding . I think there is an airport 60 miles south of London that handles Ryan Air. Not sure of the name....Stan(something). Anyway, I hear they are quite inexpensive and fly to Ireland, maybe France too. This might be quicker than a ferry. Thought I would toss this info. to you.

thanks thank you, i will look into that -- don't be too jealous, i don't even know if we can get together the airfare. It at least takes the expense of the room/board from the expenses. I just hope there is either enough to do close to take day trips or it's cheap to fly or take a ferry somewhere for a few days.
Sorry, the only airports in England that interest me are the ones that I fly through to get to Ireland (Heathrow & sometimes Gatwick). I guess you will have to do your homework and a good Internet search to find out. Or perhaps call the British Tourist Authority or visit their site.

AIRPORT Hi there. Just wanted to say that my husband and I are taking a Ryan Air flight from Gatwick to Dublin when we travel in May.
