Carlingford, anyone?

We're planning to stay for 3 nights in Carlingford. It seems to be "off the beaten path," between Dublin and Belfast. Has anyone been in that area? Do you have any recommendations regarding pubs or entertainment? Thanks!
Marsha

Hi Marsha,

I have been through Carlingford many times, but have never stayed there. You're right - it is off the beaten path. I would suggest asking locally and then just do a walk around and poke your head into the pubs till you find one you like. It is a small town so you should be able to do that without a problem. Where are you staying?

Mourneview B&B

Hi Michelle,
We're staying at the Mourneview B&B. I don't know a thing about it except that it is in Town and Country Homes. Lynn Grills, the owner, seems very nice in her emails. Therefore, it must be a fabulous place!!:lol What made us want to stay there is that is seems so small and not very touristy. We plan to take a couple of day trips from there. Perhaps drive to Dundalk one day and take the train into Dublin. We aren't looking forward to driving in Dublin. How does that sound?

:)

By the look of the photo on their website, you should have no problems there! The name of the owner sounds very familiar - I think she might actually be a Northerner, from around the Kilkeel area. This local TV show was doing a feature on Carlingford this week, so you might want to check it out (although there is only one photo of Carlingford): u.tv/homesweethome/featur...atureid=48

Mourne View B&B

Michelle,
The website for the Mourneview is mourneviewcarlingford.com. It is very well done. I'm really looking forward to our stay there.
