Irish gifts

Michele, any suggestions on where I can find Mullingar Pewter, (other than in Mullingar.) Irish coins? (I dont know if they even exist) and Soccer Jerseys?

I'm an avid pewter collector. Would love to bring some home with me.

Thanks
Mary Ellen

Re: Irish Gifts

Hi Mary Ellen,

Mullingar pewter can be found in most shops catering to tourists. Some that come to mind are Quills, Avoca, Blarney Woolen Mills, Bunratty Village Mills, Dunnes, Meadows and Byrne. Obviously each store will not carry a complete line. Generally what I notice are the pewter tankards, goblets, flasks, etc. You can view the items they make on this site: www.mullingarpewter.com/

If you are talking about old Irish coins (pre euro) you will find them sold in sets in gift shops. Usually they are framed as a presentation piece or fashioned into jewelry. You will find lots of Irish coins for sale on Ebay.

Soccer jerseys can likewise be found at the stores mentioned above.

m barnes

be ready for some hefty prices for football "soccer" jerseys. My husband is a fanatic and we spent a fortune on a few of them. They also have a lot of cool rugby jerseys that you may like- all expensive.
***I've found a few great deals on e-bay for jerseys- thought i'd pass that along

Jerseys

I saw some really nice rugby jerseys at Standúns
in Spiddal, Co. Galway.
The exchange rate was also nice !
Cheers !
Mark
