What to do around adare We will be staying in Adare in July. I would love to hear suggestions on what to do around that area. We also will be with 2 children ages 4&6. We don't mind driving a reasonable distance for a worthwhile day trip.Thank you in advance for any responses.

Re: What to do around adare Adare is a great location for a lot of things. Here are some of my favorites:
Mitchelstown Caves - the kids would probably enjoy this
Bunratty Castle and Folk Park and maybe the medieval banquet or traditional night
Rock of Cashel and an evening at Bru Boru
Cahir Castle & the Swiss Cottage
Lough Derg Drive with stops in Killaloe, Tuamgraney and Portumna
Clare Glens - a great hike with waterfalls and decent paths on the Limerick/Tipperary border.
Quinn Abbey - on the way to the cliffs...it's a nice abbey ruin to wander around
Croom Mills (nearby Adare) Tralee: Blennerville Windmill, steam train, Kerry the Kingdom, Aqua Dome. Limerick: King John's Castle Castleisland: Crag Cave (there is a children's play area). Ballybunnion: seaside town with beaches, cliff walk and beachy fun. Killarney: jaunting car rides, boat rides, hiking, scenic walks, Ross Castle, Muckross House, Garden & Traditional Farms. Co. Clare: Cliffs of Moher, Loop Head, Craggaunowen Project, Aillwee Cave, Dolphin Cruise (from Kilrush), Moher Hill Open Farm & Leisure Park, Lahinch Seaworld.
That should keep you all very busy!
Let us know how it goes and what the kids enjoyed the most when you return.
