We used our ATM debit credit card for the entire trip and it worked out great!  The one time we had to withdraw $$, we got a fee for that but it was only $1.50 for using a bank system that our bank isn't in partnership with.  No fees for anything else.  It was actually fun getting our bank statement the next month and reliving when and where we spent certain amounts.  For sanities sake, I didn't add up the amounts...  I want to go back someday!
