We have a small group, about 12 people, who want to spend 12 days touring Ireland this June. We are trying to figure out the best way to go about this. None of us have ever been to Ireland so we want to see as much as we can. Would it be best to use a tour guide? We really do not want a large bus tour group. Can/ How might we find someone to do a small group tour perhaps using a small bus? Would it better to rent 2 minivans and drive ourselves? What would you suggest as first time tourists to Ireland?
Welcome to my forum. You may want to contact CIE Tours. Besides their large packaged tours they also do small customized tours using smaller buses for groups such as yours.
Since you are going in June (which will be here before you know it) it will probably be best to use such a service rather than have to plan everything yourself.
Joe Fallon over at CIE Tours handles most of the smaller tours. He is a joyto work with and will get you all sussed out in no time at all.
It is much easier to go this route than trying to coordinate two vans, two drivers, varied travel styles, etc.
I would contact them as soon as you can, as there isn't much time to put something together and they will be getting bogged shortly. March is a busy time for them.
