Ferries From Doolin to the Arans

I just received word that the Ferries from Doolin are starting up earlier this year. They usually start their runs around April 1st. However, due to an increase in inquiries, they are kicking off their season on March 12.

I thought it might be of some interest to our early travelers.

Slan Beo,

It will still be dependant on Tide and Weather this early in the year and I doubt they would have ventured out on a day like today so it might be wise for folk to check before they leave.

True enough Tony. That goes for any time of the year. Travelers should always have a bad weather contingent plan, no matter March or August

I hear the weather is blowing in nasty again. Are they really saying snow for St. Patrick's day?

Bit,

Thanks for that info. Hope it doesn't snow on the St. Patrick's Day Parade!

We called a couple of the ferry companies while we were in Doolin, and one did say they were going to try and start on Saturday. We still hope to make the Arans, but it totally depends on the weather. We don't want to get totally soaked, so we are going to play it by ear later this week. The ferry in Galway is running and, of course, the plane is flying.

Today in Ballincollig, chilly but pretty sunny. No complaints! Beautiful!
