Sights to see - driving Galway to Dublin

Hi all,

I have some great suggestions already for our drive from Galway to Dublin - one being Clonmacnoise (which looks beautiful!) and Belvedere House and Gardens. Are there any others that I'm missing? We have the whole day to lots of time to sightsee.

Thanks!

Arianna,

Those two will take a good portion of the day. On the east coast is Malahide Castle if time still remains.

Do you have a Day or a week? Athenry Castle and Heritage Centre, Loughrea Cathedral and the Mountfield Horse Museum, Aughtrim Heritage centre River cruise and Castle in Athlone, Clonmacnoise, Belvedere, Malahide and a few other places not usually on the tourist map.

Birr is a very nice Georgian town. You can visit Birr Castle's extensive gardens but not the castle (the Duke still lives there)
