Which fall month better for a visit?

My husband and I are planning to have a driving vacation in Ireland and have narrowed it down to either mid September or mid October. What are the pros and cons of each month? Do you have a definite preference? Thanks!

September is just on the back end of tourist season and would be my choice, you have more chance of better weather and a bit more daylight. I always recommend May or September as the best months to come over.

mpc524,

Welcome to my forum. I hope you will find it a good place for planning your trip. I vote for September because more things are open than in October. Also, the later you get in the fall the shorter the days. This year is very slow in Ireland and September will give you more choices by way of sightseeing, accommodations and restaurants.
