We landed back in Tucson last night. After the cold and rain of Ireland the last two weeks, that was not a welcome blast furnace to step into! I will give a detailed trip report after a few days of sussing and sorting.
A good time was had by all. I found a few new wonderful lodgings and one not so much. The daily itinerary changed again once we got there. We never made Hook, Beara or the Lough Derg loop.
It was defintely cold, wet and windy with only a few days of sun but that is why I go to Ireland.
Welcome home to you and your family. Hope all went well and as smoothly as possible, given the circumstances. Sounds like the weather we had in May - gales, rain, hail and little teases of sunshine. I, too, came back to 95 degrees. I must admit that was a shock to the old jet-lagged system.
Looking forward to hearing more once you get settled.
Our first week, in Galway we had amazing weather, arriving in Westport, we have now had three rainy days. Still hoping to Climb Croagh Patrick tomorrow. Looking forward to hearing about you trip Bit.
This was our second climb and we had beautiful weather both times- the advantage of basing ourselves in an area for a while I suppose. I'd shudder at the thought of climbing in cold and windy conditions.
Lots of photos of our climb. Overall, we had great weather. My wife is returning in three weeks for a family visit. She wants me to research an east of Ireland trip for next summer.
