Now I understand!!

That's right.  I get it.  I now know why so many of you go back.  Once you have experienced Ireland and its people you must return!  Our group of first time Ireland travelers (a group of 20 friends) returned June 20 from the most wonderfully perfect 2 week journey- and that's considering our return flight got canceled in Dublin and taking 2 additional days to get home! But who would want to leave?

We started and ended in Dublin and spent our days traveling clockwise around  the island - did not get into Northern Ireland this trip. Perhaps the only thing more beautiful than the country itself was the people.  Not a speck of my DNA is Irish by heritage but if I could pick my ethinicity it would be Irish hands down.  The Irish have mastered kindness, hospitality and friendliness to perfection and I am speaking of all ages: children to senior adults.  Extraordinary!

Yes it rained.  Yes it was cool by our June weather norm here in the midwest, but it was still perfect in every way- the sights, people, food, drink, air- literally everything.  OK maybe one thing could have been better- the Euro to US dollar excnahge rate could have been better.

Michelle, your blog sight was so valuable to me.  I read so many entries and suggestions and I felt so entirely prepared for the visit.  Thank you and all your contributors for the information and advice.  You were all spot on right and I absolutely must go back!

Labgirl,

Welcome home! smile

What a great endorsement for Ireland...and for this forum! biggrin Thanks for your comments. I am happy that we were of help with your trip. Sharing what we know is very important to us. And now you know why. I think you might just love Ireland as much as all the regulars do here. It is not really such a bad thing to be "addicted to Ireland". Join the crowd and start planning your next trip.

If you have the time we would absolutely love it if you could post a Trip Report with all the juicy details. Not only will it refresh your memories, it will encourage others to visit Ireland and share tips with them. What goes around, comes around....and around and around.

Michele
