hi - I just found this forum a few minutes ago .... I'll have lots of questions that hopefully archive searches will answer (I don't want to duplicate the "same ol' questions"!). But for starters my question is: which is a better time to travel to Ireland - the last week of March/early April or the last half of May? I have a feeling it is May regarding weather. What events/activities would I be missing if I choose either set of dates?
Welcome to my forum. Your feelings are right -- mid-May is generally better than then end of March. Not only is the weather usually better and a bit warmer but more sightseeing attractions will be open then. In fact 99% of them are open in mid-May. Also all the trees and flowers are blooming, little lambs are in the fields (and maybe on the roads) & it is my all-time favorite month in Ireland.
thanks Michele, mid-May it is then! ok - now I can start some serious planning for a first trip to Ireland with my two kids - 17yrs,19yrs. Little lambs are certainly cute and there must be "even more cute" baby goats running about too! sounds like fun
