Flight Site

Has anyone had experience with the airline search site called "skyscanner.com"?  I have been looking at it, but am not sure of its quality.  Thanks.

John,

Sorry, looks like no one has.

I searched Fodors for it - they have it in one of their articles. I don't imagine they would have done so if they hadn't vetted it first.

I know I'm still a ways out from June 2012, but I am looking for price drops in airfare without any results. Consumer Report has an article on airfare in the current issue and according to them, connecting flights are often cheaper than direct flights, especially on international flights. As I have gotten excited over the possibility of flying the new direct flight from Dulles to Dublin, I might have to be flexible and realize that a connecting flight might be more realistic. In the meantime, I'm going to keep options open...

Just saw $832 RT Louisville to Dublin end of April. Does it look to anyone if this is as good as it gets? Happy New Year to all.

I suppose it could get a little lower. Is it a lot lower than your previous quotes?

About $150 per person

That is a good drop in price. But it is hard to predict. You must take the offer you are most comfortable with.

I wouldn't necessarily use Skyscanner for planning transatlantic trips. However, one thing it is useful for is comparing the various low-cost airlines (Ryanair, Easyjet, etc.) for trips around Europe - much easier than going to all of their websites in turn!

Last year I paid $441.80/ticket - Continental, Newark to Shannon. I'm hoping and praying for another price like that.
I remember Continental was having a "European Sale" when I purchased them. I should mention this was an 8 day trip in April.
Keep your eye on airlines "Special Offers" or "Internet Offers" or however they word it. I am 25 minutes from Philly airport but travel to Newark to get the great airfare price as Continental has a hub in Newark.

Unfortunately April is not an option as my wife works in a public school system and we always have to travel in the high season. I was looking at the new ontinental Dulles to Dublin route but was unwilling to pass on this weeks Aer Lingus price drop based on previous years trends.

Just now saw a good price of $597 RT from Newark to Shannon. This was Travelocity.com . The dates I put in were April 25 to May 9 but you could try other dates.
