It is an ongoing problem. People think that everything they see on the Internet is free for them to do anything they want with. So they steal my photos, articles and anything else not nailed down. But it is tough to nail things down online. Catch-22. Plus many of these people remain anonymous with no way to contact them and complain. The only thing left is to complain online myself and expose them for what they are.
Fair warning to those who do this. They will be exposed.
No one asked me for permission to use my work that I have spent many hours and weeks researching and writing. No one paid for the use of my work. No one even had the decency to link to my website. Instead they presented the info as their own.
Shame on the author for stealing someone else's copyrighted article!!
I'm sorry to hear and see this. You have been so helpful to so many. You deserve much more. As far as being steamed your to nice. Steamed would not have been the word I would have used.
I noticed a copyright at the bottom of their web site. How can THEY copyright your copyrighted words? Can't you contact the US copyright office and register a complaint? Or maybe you did that, I hope so.
In order to have copied your words they must be monitoring this site, so I hope THEY see all the complaints and remove the stolen information and apologize to you.
They can't copyright my copyrighted material. Funny that they have that on their website. Obviously it means nothing. I would have to sue them. But trying to sue a ghost is difficult, time-consuming and a money pit. Instead I choose to shame them.
People that infringe on copyrights never apologize. There was a guidebook that used one of my sketches in their book. The book publisher apologized. The authors blamed it on the B&B owner, never took responsiblitiy for researching where the sketch came from and were extremely hostile to me for even bringing up the matter with them and wasting their time. That tells you a bit about the authors and how much time they invest in research.
