Welcome to my forum. You can certainly do that (or most of it) in the allotted time. Have you sat down with a calendar and map to plot it out? You might find the AA Route Planner helpful.

Why don't you post a proposed itinerary and we will help you tweak it? Try for mostly 2 night stays with some one night stays sprinkled in. Obviously you will start with a couple of days in Dublin and end near Shannon (Bunratty and Ennis are good but depend on flight time).

Meanwhile, you might find my Blog article of interest.

You can find many recommendations for excellent places to stay in Ireland on my Lodgings page. I have much more in my book. But first you need to nail down your itinerary. Accommodations come next.

I have read your answer to this question posted on the VT forum.

You will need a car to complete this list and get the most out of it

5th-7th Dublin

8th collect car from the Airport and head for Belfast.

9th from Belfast to Derry over the Antrim Coast.

10th Derry to Donegal for a couple of nights to see the Slieve League, and some of the North West

12th by Sligo to Westport

13th Somewhere around or in Galway after exploring the Connemara a little

14th-15th Ennis from Galway tour the west of Clare and the Burren the 2nd day the East of Clare and Lough Derg

16th Dingle, its almost compulsory

17th-18th Killarney/Kenmare

19th Cork

20st Adare or Bunratty

Very busy and could possibly do with some trimming.

You must have some ideas of what you want and whilst people are more than willing to offer suggestions the odd hint from your side might be helpful

From a former post of yours on VT then Air Con in Ireland involves the opening of a window. Yes some Hotels have air-con but most B&B can not afford all the complexity and Health and Safety legislation involved.

(I have already apologised for perceived sarcasm in that remark.)

As to Accommodation with your Daughter suffering MS then lifts or ground floor rooms would be a main consideration.

Having worked through that I see your other post on VT has you wanting Dublin for 3 days and Belfast/NI for 4 days? If that is the case forget anything south of Shannon

Thanks Tony. I didn't have time to be a Sherlock Holmes and track down all the posts on the other forum. The additional info makes me think this should be a slower type trip rather than a "green blur". I think a lot of tweaking is in order to plan a good one, especially since there are special circumstances.

I get used to it over 4 different forums and it is surprising how often the same person asks a variation of the same question with different basics. Nothing at all wrong with asking as many different people as possible. And to Kathiebronx credit she uses the same name. I do though get a bit miffed sometimes due to the cfs brain fog getting activated. I currently have a self imposed ban on the peninsular under the Shannon on the TA forum.

There is a danger of this post becoming too much for my head to processes at one sitting.

If you take 3 days in Dublin and do a couple of trips out from there then 3 days for Belfast, Antrim and Derry. You will get into Donegal on the 13th.

Cut out everything I have listed from the 15th and you have the basis of a really good holiday.

OK so you miss the south west corner under the Shannon but you can always come back and do the area South of the Dublin - Shannon estuary line next time.

Post a question on the Northern Ireland Forum for the 3 or 4 days in the North, ponaire will give better advice than you can get certainly from my moderate knowledge.

Sarnia G is a fountain of Knowledge as you can tell.

I am just Devils advocate and Cartographer with a list of bookmarks on the hard drive and more miles on the clock than the Star Ship Enterprise.

You will get a community feel and friendly banter plus a wealth of experience from the Ireland Yes forum.

Get a Michelin 712 map and pin it to an empty wall. get some coloured pins and have a play. Once you have some rough plan then come back to have it torn apart and reshuffled.

Okay folks no more questions. I didn't realize I would be considered such a bother. I do want to thank everyone who responded - I didn't want to take a tour, but alas, I probably should have.

You'r no bother at all Kathie. I can be a bit of an ogre at times and there's a bit of banter on this site that you don't perhaps get on others but it's all the better for it. just like arguing the toss as to which is the best approach when your all sat round the bar havin the craic.

Planning a trip to a strange place can be daunting but isn't it half the fun. I can promise you will get more out of a DIY plan than you will being a slave to an organised tour.

You are certainly not a bother. My forum is here to assist people planning trips to Ireland. That is why I volunteer so much of my time to helping people. I have a vast knowledge of Ireland and hope to share it with others. My goal is always that people have a good trip to Ireland, whether they buy my book or use my paid services or not. The forum is always free!

We do like to have some fun and a sense of humor along with the info here. Sometimes on a written forum that can come across differently than an in person conversation. Tony lives in Ireland and they like to have the "craic" or fun and good times, not only among themselves but with tourists. You will find that out when you are there. Just "go with the flow" and you will have a ball in Ireland.

My reference to "The Green Blur Tour" was when people try to do too much and end up seeing Ireland as a green blur passing by their car window. It is a little joke here. I always try to get people to tweak their itineraries to make them better. In that way they will enjoy Ireland more by seeing just a little less.

After all this posting and not realizing about your itinerary service, I now know this is the ONLY way for US to go. confuse

I guess I'm a little too sensitive, I shouldn't take things so seriiously. But, this is a very exciting time for me, having wanted to visit Ireland for many years.

Everyone has been more than nice to me and I have picked up so much information from them. In the meantime I will keep reading and learning and dreamiing about my upcoming trip.
