I pulled a quote from Dan Dooley for an automatic for 4 days -- Dublin Airport to Dublin Airport. I used the dates of 24 April through 28 April and was quoted $343.22 for a 4 door hatchback -- Ford Fiesta class-- and $358.94 for a compact -- Toyota Corolla class. That's All-In, other than Fuel -- Pre-pay for the Full tank and get a full refund if returned with a Full tank.
Dooley doesn't charge extra for Cross-Border rentals OR for airport surcharges -- Just two of the items that are usually additional with other companies.
By comparison, I'm renting a Compact (Toyota Corolla/Ford Focus Class) MANUAL transmission car for 13 days -- 17 April through 30 April -- for $270,
BUT --
I am WAIVING the CDW and EXCESS insurance, using my World MasterCard's MasterRental benefit. The Automatic adds a bit -- about $40, but the BIG expense is the 'EXCESS' -- as those same two vehicles WITH CDW price out as:
MANUAL WITH EXCESS: $317.84 and $326.81
MANUAL W/O EXCESS: $182.71 and $191.67
AUTO W/O EXCESS: $259.38 and $275.10
Hope this helps ...

Help Us to Help You. The more you tell us about your plans (dates, interests, budget), the better we can tailor our advice to suit!
Are there any restrictions about renting a car in Dublin and driving to Northern Ireland for a day? About how much do you think it would cost to rent a car for four days, small car, automatic with full insurance coverage?
Depending on who you rent a car from, there is usually an extra charge for driving into No. Ireland. Dooley is the exception. You must let your car company know you will be in No. Ireland when renting.
Since you will purchase insurance you will need CDW and Super CDW. And do look at the pages Bob linked to. There is lots of info that we can never replicate again. (It would take too long!)
