Kilkenny to Rock of Cashel

I was wondering if it is an easy drive from Kilkenny to the Rock of Cashel?  It does not seem to be too far.  Will there be adequate parking in Cashel?  Travel time is at the end of April.

Thanks for your help!

It's only an hour from Kilkenny to Cashel with the new motorway. Plenty of parking half way up the hill on the right (official car park) but I tend to try and find a space on road at the bottom of the hill. Call me tight but whilst 6euro is great value for the tour of the Rock. 4euro for the car park is a bit steep.

Sharon,

There is plenty of parking in Cashel. As Tony said the lots are "pay and display". You have to purchase a ticket and display it on your dashboard. There is also some on-street parking that is paid but other places where you can park free if you wander around looking. I usually cheat and park at a friend's house nearby.
