Tesco sim card for Ireland and NI?

When we arrive in Dublin, we'll buy a Tesco sim card.  Later in our trip we'll be heading to NI for a few days and wondered if the Tesco sim card from the Republic will also work in NI or do we need to buy another card there?

Leaving for Ireland in two days!!!!! smilesmilesmile

According to Tony the card will work in both countries. I believe there are roaming charges but not much. You will just have to remember you are dialing from the Republic to the UK as far as phone numbers are concerned. I have info about that in my book.

Tesco and every other Irish sim can be used Any where on the Island of Ireland at the same rates as in the Republic.

They also work on the other European Island of Great Britain and on Mainland Europe but are charged at roaming rates and the "free" credit is not valid.

(Think I will have to start Charging Tesco commission)

Ahhh, thanks for the Tesco link. This one is more helpful than the one I found on their website. With your link, I found a store quite close to our hotel in Dublin, so we are set!

Thanks, Tony. You should be getting a commission. I'll tell them Tony sent me!!!!!

Michele and Tony, thanks for the info on the sim cards. You've all been terrific in helping sort out places to visit, routes to take, sites to see and then all those odds and ends such as sim cards. Now it's real!!!!  smile

Are Tesco sim cards/phones found in a store named "Tesco"? I recall from earlier threads that the Tesco phones were available in different counties, just wanted to know if the store is called Tesco when we search for it. Do they have a booth at arrivals at the Dublin airport as well?

No store at Dublin Airport(Swords is the closest) but a few around the city. Tesco UK are rivals to Asda/WallMart

Tony,

You definitely need a commission from Tesco. Do they have "affiliates"?
