Hello we are arriving mid morning in Dublin, and renting a car. We are hoping to stay at a B&B that is easy to find from the airport,(a bit nervous about driving on the other side of the road) on the south side of Dublin but not to far from city centre. We hope to leave the car and then travel by bus or train into city center. Any suggestions on places to stay? Or an area that would be good to stay in?
Dublin Airport is on the north side of Dublin. Are you wanting a B&B south of Dublin? How many days will you be in Dublin? Can you pick up the car after your time in Dublin? Having a car in Dublin is really not advised.
Get back to me with your answers and we can proceed from there.
Hello we arrive in Dublin on a Saturday around 10:30 in the morning. We have rented a car from enterprise & their other locations are closed on Sundays. So I thought it best if we just pick up and drop off at the airport. We are in Dublin for Saturday and a bit of Sunday, plan to leave later sunday to start heading down to Killarney area. We didn't want to drive right in the city so thought it would be best to find a place outside of the city that we could leave our car at and take the train or bus into the city centre. I was thinking of staying in the south of Dublin as we are going to a church which I thought was in the south, but now that I've looked at the address more, it looks like it is in city centre (Mill St - Warrenmount) So I guess the north would probably be fine to stay in.... The Drumcondra area - is this easy to get too from airport, I have seen some B&B in this area, or is this to close to city centre? Thanks
Malahide village is a very nice place to stay not far from the airport. They have DART service from Malahide into the city or bus. I recommend Beechwood Country House there. You can get the link from my Lodgings page.
Don't leave the drive too late to Killarney. Depending on route the drive time can be 5 to 6 hours.
