Where's Donegal?

Since our first time visiting County Donegal way back in 2005, no trip to Ireland will ever feel complete if we didn't spend time there. Last fall we spent 9 nights there, and it never feels like enough time.  I like that it's not overrun with tourists, although I realize tourists would bring welcome money to the area.

Most people seem to only holiday south of the old Dublin-Galway divide. Donegal is probably the most beautiful county in Ireland. Do some research, and go to the Northwest. http://mydestinationtheworld.com/index.php/stories-2/have-a-glimpse-at-county-donegal/  It is not as touristy as Galway or Kerry or Dublin.

Welcome to my forum. I agree completely that Donegal is well worth seeing. Unfortunately, a lot of people only have limited time in Ireland. Because of that they decide to just see the highlights, which draws them toward the south. I find that mostly repeat visitors head north of the Dublin/Galway line. Once they have seen the south they then tend to branch out to other areas.

in the North West of Ireland, you must visit Donegal its the most beautiful part of Ireland!
While there visit the Slieve League Cliffs www.slieveleague.com
