irish ferries

There are two companies crossing from Wales to Ireland, Irish Ferries who I avoid and Stena Line who I use. There are no Discounts for Seniors from either carrier any day unless there is a special deal. Rail and Sail may be cheaper booking a little in advance and may give senior discount on the rail portion but not much as the foot passenger rate and Rail and sail to/from UK mainline stations is much the same booked a day in advance.

If you are travelling by car book 28 days in advance (and let me know wink) Stena offer 3 rates fixed, flexible and Stena Plus. Irish ferries offer one rate which you can upgrade to "Club" Class but not worth it. Booking Stena ie gives a slightly better price than booking on Stena UK if you were coming the other way by car.
