want to record trip

I really dont want to take pictures I want to show my family back home what ive been through when I traveled over seas . I personally have nevee used any type of cam corder besides my fone .so I was going to see if anybody had any advice on what camcorder to get. I was thinking a medium size waterproof and good battery life to get every bit of piece of life I can. Any suggestions? =-)

I know that when Corey and Liam, from Irishfireside.com, were video blogging their Irish-American Road trip a few years back, Corey was using a FLIP MinoHD camera. I was extremely impressed with the Video quality given its small size. You can watch some of the videos by clicking on the "Road TRip" hyperlink

My suggestion is to go to the store and test drive a few camcorders. They make some nowadays that are very tiny. It probably depends on quality of the recording, ease of use and any other bells and whistles that you require.

I know our local public library rents them. You may want to see if yours does and if it's a good quality... just a thought (???) :)

Samsung W300 might be worth a look at.

Most regular digital cameras now come with HD video capabilities... the one on my point and shoot Nikon was very good.

Flip is no longer in business, but I've seen their cameras being unloaded for $30 (these were $200+ just a few years ago).

I would suggest a trip to the electronics store with a list of questions. After playing with the floor models, jot down the ones you're considering and go home and read more about them online. Then, when you're ready to commit, you can go back to the store to purchase or you can buy online.
