Hi Michele and Friends, Well it's finally here. We're taking off tomorrow at 5:40 PM from Bradely, CT! We're landing in Dublin at 9:00 AM ish! There's a Noreaster on it's way to the East Coast. Hopefully we'll at least leave Bradley and make it to Philly... I really don't think the storm will impact our travel! Ihope not!
Here's our itinerary...
March 7-8: Dublin, Staying at Eliza Lodge, Seeing Temple area, and train tour to Wicklow mountains, Glendalough, Ballykiss Angel and Meeting of the Rivers!
March 9 - 13: CIE Tour
March 13 - 16: Galway, visit to Aran Islands, lunch at G Hotel and touring city...
March 26 - 23: Adare! Relaxing and living in the "prettiest villiage in Ireland"
16 nights!
Rut rough just heard tons of flights have been canceled... :(
So far, Philly is reporting only minor delays. Chicago has cancelled about 1,000 flights, however. If they cancel yours, ask if they can re-route you via JFK or BOS. If flying USAIR, maybe Charlotte?
Good luck.
Bob

Thanks Tony!!! LOL! I've been watching the weather channel and it seems like where going to get a lot of rain. My dad said just spend more time in the pubs! :) Great idea!
Our first two trips were really dry...I guess we're due for rain! :)
You live in a beautiful country! Rain or shine. :)
A quick check this morning shows some EARLY BDL to Philly flights canceled, but later ones are still 'On' ...
Would guess you're on the 3251 at 5 PM to make the 7 PM flight to DUB? I think USAIR is the only airline that I HAVEN'T flown to Ireland! Too many connections from our part of Florida to suit the Mrs. . ...
Let us know how it goes, if you have the chance...

Hmm. I don't know what happened to my last post. But here goes again...
You're right. We are on the 3251 flight and so far it's still on! Fingers crossed!
I'll post before I leave. My husband works for TSA at Bradley and we live 5 minutes from the airport. I just want to get "on" vacation. I'm retired. hehehe so I really don't need a vacation but mom does! Right mom!?!?!?
Hmmm... I found my other post by hitting the back arrow...So I'll post it too! :)
My husband works for TSA at Bradley...he's trying to talk to USAir to get some "inside" information for me! (And hopefully a couple of drink vouchers! ;)). And you got it right that's exactly the flight we're taking. So far it's on schedule. I just want to get to Philly and be "on" vacation!!!
Funny that you mention the Mrs because what I love about traveling with my mom is there's no negotiating (like with my hubby). Pretty much what I want goes!!! :) I do extensive research and find the best of the best (hence this site!). So, she agrees with my judgement!
Anyone else feel like a mother...or father hen?... I spent most of yesterday evening and this morning wondering whether Maggie made it up ...up and away
HI!!! We arrived at the airport at noon on March 6 for a 5:40 flight hoping to get on an earlier flight...Long story short...I believe our flight was canceled and we ended up on an earlier flight which took off at 5:40... We landed in PA and our connectnig flight to Dublin was fairly empty due to many ppl missing their flights to PA...:)
I hadn't finished packing and left some things behing and was able to buy them in Ireland. (Shampoo, barretts, brush, hairspray). all is well and tirp has been a huge fun success!!! :) I'm posting in the trip update area!!!
Have a safe journey home. Glad you got to Ireland okay. I've been monitoring the weather and it's been cooold! Hope Gate Lodge Cottage was warm. It was when I was there but it was April. Looking forward to your trip report.
