Coming to Ireland in September. Staying in Dublin. Would like to take a day trip to somewhere in Wexford County since that is where our family is from. Any suggestions of towns that are close to Dublin? Thanks so much.

Is this by car?? Any particular part of Wexford?
By car direct Wexford town is about a couple of hours, you could then cross to Waterford and back up the M9. making a full day of it. without a car then you are limited by transport links.

no car, we will need to use public transportation. Thinking about Wexford City. Just wondering if there was something cool to see closer.

You can get the train to Wexford town: http://www.irishrail.ie/ Once there you might enjoy a walking tour of town: http://www.wexfordwalkingtours.net/ Here is a link to tourism in Wexford: http://www.visitwexford.ie/

Closer to Dublin? There is a tour to Glendalough and Powerscourt.
