Dublin Recommendations

Everyone,

We will be staying two nights in Dublin at the end of our May 2006 trip.  So far I have Jury's Christchurch as a potential hotel.  Does anyone have additional recommendations for accomodation in Dublin (City Centre)?  B & B's, guesthouses, hotels - all are ok..... we'll be without car at that point so will have to rely on walking and/or public transportation.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Cathy

Do you have Michele's book? She has some suggestions. I check a few on the weekend - one was a 5 star hotel, but a bit out of our price range. I told the kids we could stay there, but we just woudln't be able to eat for the rest of the trip...

I'll be checking back here for suggestions with since we don't have anything booked yet.

Hi Irisheyes,

Yes, I have Michele's book -- in fact that's where I got the Jury's Christchurch recommendation.  I'll go back tonight and take another look.  I didn't recall anything else in the City Centre that was affordable.  Good suggestion though - I'll take another look.

Thanks.

Cathy,

Jury's Christchurch is well located for doing central Dublin and is generally a good price. Of course, Dublin is Ireland's most expensive place to stay. Check my "Lodgings" page too. Bill (a forum regular) stayed at Pembroke Townhouse and recommends it:  http://www.pembroketownhouse.ie/

Also check right here on this forum. That topic comes up ALL the time here and if you do a little digging through the archives, I'll bet you find something. But then you have to share the info, so I can make a good reservation too.

Irisheyes,

Excellent advice. Actually you don't have to do that much digging through the forum. Near the top of each page is a white section that says "Search". Just click on it and enter Dublin hotels into the box. It will find them for you!
