Dungarvan B & B

Dear forum friends:

Is anyone familiar with the Maple Leaf bed and breakfast in Dungarvan?  I have a particular reason for considering staying there, but I'm not sure it is really the best choice.  In fact, I believe it is about 6 miles from the town centre, which I am not thrilled about.

I'm going to Dungarvan (with my wife and daughter) to learn as much about my grandfather's hometown as I can.  It happens that the proprietor of the Maple Leaf has the same last name as me, which I was very excited to learn.  So far, checking our family trees, we don't know yet how we're related.  By the time we arrive (April) we may know.

So, while I would be happy to meet her, I don't want to stay there just for a sentimental or "family loyalty" reason if it is for any reason uncomfortable.  I haven't seen mention of it in any guide book, so I thought I would consult with the good citizens of this forum to see if anyone has particular knowledge of the Maple Leaf.

Thanks,

Kevin

RE: Dungarvan B&B

Kevin,

I am not familiar with Maple Leaf. I did, however, inspect a lovely guesthouse that I would recommend. It is Powersfield House: http://www.powersfield.com/ . Unfortunately there was a wedding on in Dungarvan while I was there and I couldn't see any other B&Bs.
