Dublin location & transport

Hi Michele,

What is the best way to get from the airport to City Centre?  Would you recommend the aircoach?  Also, I've seen that Dublin is divided into sections...D1, D2, etc.  Would you say that D2 is the most favorable place to stay close to the attractions?  Is it easy to get from the airport to hotels without a car?  Confusing logistics...

Shawn,

Dublin 2 is the most favorable area. If you have a lot of luggage a taxi will make life much easier. If you are traveling light AirLink or Air Coach are good options:

P.S. If taking a bus get a "return" ticket (round trip)

I HOPE THAT IS PER CAR, NOT PER PERSON.

I've heard horror stories about the taxis.  Say we each have one large bag on rollers and a carry on...would we be ok on an aircoach?  Is it easy enough to travel in by the bus/trains or is it just worth taking the risk with a taxi to get where we need to get without a hassle?

Shawn,

That price is per taxi ride. I think that you will be okay taking the bus since you are not overly loaded down with luggage and you have wheels. There are always horror stories about taxis in every country. I think you can discount a lot of them. Most taxi drivers are legit and if you chance upon one that is not you can report them if you take down their number.
