Shannon airport arrival - transportation

My family is arriving into Shannon Airport on Three consecutive days each at 6am. We will be renting a van on the first day and had planned to head to Galaway, however, we are hoping we don't have to drive to Shannon each morning to pick up our children as they arrive. Is there a bus or train from Shannon airport to Galaway.

Perhaps we should stay near Shannon the first three days and then all 5 of us head to Galaway together, what do you think? And if this is a better idea, what would you do on those days August 22 and August 23 near Shannon. Thanks - I have not decided exactly which 7 days to rent the van for yet.

Just to update everyone on our itinerary dates now confirmed and airline tickets purchased:

Mom,Dad and 19 year old son arrive Shannon on August 22 6am

21 year old son arrives Shannon August 23 6am

25 year old son arrives Shannon August 24 6am

We start in or near Galaway and We slowly make our way to Dublin for August 29 hotel check in and football game on August 30 at Croke Park.

The 21 year old departs Dublin on 8/31, the 25 year old departs Dublin on 9/1 , the 19 year old on 9/2 and mom and dad depart Dublin on9/4.

I was planning on having a van from 8/22 until 8/29 , which 7 days I rent the van for I guess depends on whether we head to Galaway on 8/22 or wait for all the boys to arrive and head there together.  I would like to plan an itinerary that includes: Galaway, Doolin,Aran Islands,Cliffs of Moher,Ring of Kerry,Dingle,Killarney, Doolin, Kilkenny, Adare and of course Dublin.

I want to go to the Bunratty mideival feast, and ride bicycles on the Aran island? I'll need day trips from Dublin using public transportation from 8/31 until 9/4 as I plan to turn in my vehicle on 8/29

Any thoughts?  If this is too much to include I can easily skip some of this.

Thank you so much for your opinions, your experience is very much appreciated.

Cindi

That is a lot of coordination! Because there are three different arrival days are some of you going to see some of the sightseeing and some of your sons won't get to see some of it because of later arrivals? How exactly had you planned for that? If you all have to see the sightseeing listed it might be tough to figure that out. Perhaps you will end up doing some things twice to compensate?

Michele, you are so right! When I realized we were dealing with three different arrival days to make this trip work, I thought, "this is crazy! This is supposed to be a vacation!" but it's actually all falling into place.
These are my thoughts, please add any thoughts you think I should consider or change.
The first three if us arrive Shannon on 8/22 a Friday at 6am. We get our rental van from Dan Dooley probably and explore some things near Shannon including the Bunratty Castle and attend the medieval banquet that evening. We stay somewhere nearby at maybe a small hotel and pick up our next son when he arrives on 8/23 at 6am. We have breakfast and drive to Galaway? The third son arrives the next morning, Sunday 8/24 and he can take the bus to meet us in Galaway where we may stay at the thatched roof cottage for our last night there before we start making our way toward Dublin to arrive there on 8/29.
How does this sound so far...?
Plan B as an alternate would be to head straight to Galaway when we arrive and have each son take the bus as they arrive on Saturday and Sunday and we all meet up on Galaway.

You could always trade Galway for Ennis which is a lot handier for SNN and a good base for All county Clare.. or use Adare which can be used as a base to do trips round Dingle or take a Paddywagon tour from Limerick round the Ring of Kerry.

Since you want to do Bunratty Castle, Folk Park and the medieval banquet, perhaps the first night in Bunratty would be ideal. Then you could do two nights in Ennis. That way you can pick up all your sons.

Bunratty Manor and Bunratty Castle Hotel are just across the street from the castle and would be convenient.
