Hiring a driver

We (three adults, 2 kids) arrive in Dublin August 22nd, then go to Killenard, then to Kinsale, next to Adare, then to Killney, then back to Dublin.  We are afraid to drive.  Where can we hire a driver reasonably?  Is there public transportation from city to city?  Is it better to hire a day guide once we get to our hotel?  Please help!

Welcome to the forum. Hiring a car and driver can cost $300 a day and up. You can take a look at my transport page for info on trains and buses. Taking public transportation will mean plenty of planning and it will take time getting from place to place. You will also need to stick to the train and bus schedules.

Driving is not that bad if you rent a car with an automatic transmission. Most of the highways you would be traveling on from place to place are divided motorways. Once you get to your destinations the roads are smaller.

Let us know if we can answer any other questions.
