Routes ?? Shannon to Dublin or vice a versa ??

We are 4 girlfriend planning our first trip to Ireland . I'm not sure which is the best route for us ? We would like to make stops in Galway and Killarney .

 

 

 

We would like to drive as least as possible and hope to take tours from these city's .

 

any help in planning would be greatly appreciated !!

Details, please:  When is your trip?  How long?  What do you plan / want to see and do?  What's your budget?

If you want to make the trip without renting a car at all:

Fly into Shannon.  Express Bus to Galway.   http://www.citylink.ie/      http://www.buseireann.ie/

Express Bus, Galway to Killarney.   http://www.citylink.ie/images/citylinkkillarneytimetablewebqp.pdf

Train from Killarney to Dublin    http://www.irishrail.ie/         and fly out of Dublin.

I say this route, rather than the reverse, as it provides more Last-Night flexibility, placing you closer to the Airport for your departure.

If Driving start from Shannon, bus's to Galway don't start until 8 ish so you have a wait if arriving at 6 am you could grab breakfast at the airport.
