Where to stay after leaving Shannon Airport

Does anyone have any suggestions on where (what County or place) I should stay after arriving in Shannon. We will travel from Shannon to Dublin during our stay in Ireland. I am looking for a B & B that will accept B & B vouchers from 12 travel.

Thanks for your imput.

Kimberly,

How long do you have in Ireland? What time of year? Are you looking for a place near Shannon for your first night or do you want to travel a short distance away? If you have a transatlantic flight you will be jet lagged.

You most likely have Town & Country vouchers. If so, this website lists all T&C B&Bs that accept vouchers: www.tandctrade.com

Give us a bit more info so we can help.

I will arrive in Shannon on June 2nd. We are traveling from the US. I've been told the best way to avoid jet lag is to keep moving. I also heard I should sleep on the flight as much as possible. Do you know if either of these techniques will help?

I am not sure how far to plan to travel, not far, but I want to go somewhere we can check out a pub and relax after our flight.

Kimberly,

Jet lag affects everyone differently. Just do what seems natural for you at the time. If you want something nearby Shannon I recommend Bunratty, which is 10-15 minutes drive away from the airport. It has several pubs and restaurants, a castle and folk park, shopping and plenty of B&Bs. In that area I recommend Headley Court and they take vouchers: www.headleycourt.net. If you are interested in driving elsewhere take a look at my "Lodgings" page. Click on IrelandYes Index and then on Lodgings.

Also take a look around my website because it will give you good tips on how to plan your trip.
