Restaurants and luggage lockers near Hueston station Dublin

Can you recommend a couple of really good places to have breakfast or brunch near the Hueston Station?  We'll be flying into Dublin from NYC in mid-September, and meeting our daughter and son-in-law (flying into Dublin from Boston) for breakfast in Dublin and then taking the train to Galway.  For convenience we will want to have breakfast near the Heuston Station and safe place to leave the luggage for a few hours only.

Thanks!

Greetings and welcome to Michele's Forum!

Irish Rail closed their Luggage Storage facility at Heuston Station a while ago.  A nearby option would be:  http://www.tipperaryhousedublin.com/baggage-storage/

The Ashling Hotel http://www.ashlinghotel.ie/restaurant-and-bar  has a decent food service and MAY still offer Left Luggage services, as well.  Another alternative, if all you want is basic fare, would be the Galway Hooker or the SuperMacs located IN Heuston Station.

You are quite welcome.  How much time will you have between arrival, the family 'meet up' and your train departure?

If it is little more than time for a meal, I would just 'park' the luggage next to me in the Ashling and enjoy a leisurely breakfast / brunch.  It's just over the Liffey from Heuston Station.  Luggage storage runs about 5 Euro per bag and wouldn't be practical unless you have a few hours to wait and want to explore the area.

Be sure to pre-book your train tickets for the best price -- 'Walk Up' tickets can be VERY pricey.
