As stated, the alternate routes (R 568 from Sneem to Moll's Gap and R 569 from Kenmare and Kilgarvan to Killarney) are still in effect, so the Ring of Kerry and regular tourist routes are still viable. Heading North or South, you could always detour via Sneem (N70 and R 568), as well.
For the more adventurous, the 'L' roads between the N70 -- either via Letter (Lettereen) or from Blackwater Bridge, via Rossacoosane might also suffice.
