Sugesstion for 1 night in Wexford, 2 in Killarney

Hello!

I am looking for suggestions for accommodations in Wexford and Killarney. We are spending a couple of days in Dublin, then plan to tour Wicklow and spend our first night away from Dublin somewhere around Wexford. From there the plan is to drive to Waterford then on to Killarney where we will spend a couple of nights. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Welcome to Michele's Forum!  biggrin

IN Wexford town, we quite liked: http://www.riverbankhousehotel.com/  It's just across the bridge from the center of town.  On the opposite end of town, we've also enjoyed a stay at:  http://www.whitfordhotelwexford.ie/?utm_source=mybusiness&utm_medium=organic

In the center of town, the Talbot looks quite nice, but we haven't stayed there.  It's may be a tad 'pricier', as well.

In Killarney, you'll be spoilt for choice --  What are your parameters?  Budget, central location, or quiet country side?  What do you plan to see / do while IN Killarney (which could impact Location choice)?

Thank you for the suggestions! We have booked a self driving package that includes 2 nights in Dublin, 3 nights in Killarney and two nights in West Ireland (we chose Ashford Castle), however the 3 nights in Killarney are booked up so we were told we are responsible for those nights on our own. We have chosen to spend one of those nights in Wexford and the other two in Killarney. This is our first trip to Ireland. We enjoy hiking, scenery, history and dining. I am thinking a good central location to use as base for exploring? We haven't yet decided on all specifics but know we would like to visit Killarney National Park.

We most often self-cater (4+ nights) when in Killarney, but I've enjoyed our stays at these B&Bs:

http://www.carrigleahouse.com/    and  https://www.theharpbnb.com/#home

We recently (for two nights in November) scored a great deal at this hotel:  http://www.riversidehotelkillarney.com/

These are all located to the South of town, between Ross Castle and Muckross House and near the Lakes.  The National Park is all around the vicinity and there is even a walk-in gate from Town Center.

Thank you for the reccomendations Bob. We have booked the Carriglea House and are very much looking forward to it! Still deciding about Wexford, both properties look great.

We stayed in the upstairs of the separate, Carriage House -- BIG rooms, great views.  I believe they've added on, since.
