Here is another one. I have been attending Irish Set Dancing lessons and would love to be able to try my luck at a ceili in Ireland. I will be staying in Ballyshannon from the 18th until the 24th, then will be in Dublin from the 24th until the 29th (we leave that day). Anybody know of any possibilities within travel distance?
P.S. We will be at a wedding on Friday and Sat Apr. 20/21. (HA HA no set dancing there, though....they are having a Country band!)
Vaughan's Pub in Kilfenora has a regular Sunday evening dance. Was there in fall of 2016. They had a live and lively band and about 4 or 5 squares of dancers, including some from the US. We stayed at a B&B in Liscannor and made an easy drive, about half an hour to Kilfenora.
It's a pitty you are not by me on a Saturday night they are always looking for dancers to join in the sets. unfortunately restrictive drink driving laws has all but killed the country pubs that were the home of social dancing.

Looks like I will most likely dance in Dublin at O'Shea's. Maybe next trip over I will look up something closer to you, Tony. I will dance without drink. :)
My worst worry is dancing without a caller. I will need an understanding and patient dance partner.
Well, I made it through a ceili here in Shepherdtown without a caller, and left no blood on the floor. LOL. Everyone was helpful and kind. What can I expect in Ireland, Tony 2 phones? Shall I risk a go at the Caledonian, Lancers, North Kerry?
