Home Rentals near Birr

Hi all,

I haven't been on the forum in several years but we are returning to Ireland in September and are hoping to rent a home as close to Birr as possible. Any suggestions? Needs to sleep at least  4, but preferable 5-6. Thanks for any help you can give! (BTW, suggestions for B&B's are good too in case we can't find a rental).

Found these two places (multiple offerings at each) on our last visit:

http://www.sarahscottages.ie/       Didn't stay here, but the owner did give us a lovely tour.

http://www.loughdergthatchedcottages.com/   Didn't stay OR tour -- but, if it was good enough for Gene Kelly . . .   

They are close to 20 miles from Birr, however.

Closer in to Birr, you could check out these:   http://www.midirelandtourism.ie/accommodation/self-catering-offaly/     

Portumna is about 15 miles away.  So is Terryglass.  Banagher is about 7.5 miles.
