Killarney to Blarney Castle and back

My husband and I will be in Killarney with a large group for a couple of days in May.  On Sat., we have the whole day on our own.  The problem is he would like to fly fish and we would like to drive to the Blarney Castle.  How far is Blarney (Co. Cork) from Killarney? and would we have time to fish in the morning and also drive to Co. Cork to the Blarney Castle?

It is approximately 2 hours from Killarney to Blarney and two hours back. Then you need time for seeing the castle and most people also stop in at Blarney Woolen Mills for shopping. It is a whole day trip by itself so do it on a non-fishing day.
