I was wondering how far of a drive it is from Shannon Airport to Ballybunnion. I was also wondering how far of a drive it is from Ballybunnion to Dingle. I was thinking of staying in Ballybunnion my first night in Ireland but am not sure if that is a smart idea after such a long flight. If not Ballybunnion where would you folks suggest since my second night i want to stay in Dingle.
You can probably make it to Ballybunnion in a couple of hours and it's probably about an hour to Dingle from there. This can be done on a first day, but get out of the car and walk around as soon as you start to feel tired. Jet lag hates sunshine and exercise.
It is about 2 hours to Ballybunion and another 2 hours to Dingle. However, you could also drive to Killarney in 2 hours. Take Bill's advice about stopping and going for a walk to wake yourself up if you start feeling very tired. Even a bite to eat can perk you up.
