Respiratory Equipment

Hi Michelle,

We are travelling to Ireland in August.  Our daughter needs a nebulizer treatment 2x day and our machine is quite heavy.  Plus we have had challenges transporting as carry-on luggage within the U.S. we can't risk having the machine confiscated at an airport (Seattle, Chicago, Dublin) and we are hesitant to pack it in our luggage because half of our suitcases were lost/misplaced on our last trip.

I wonder if there is a medical equipment supply center within Dublin, or if you have other suggestions.

Thanks,

Kathleen

Kathleen,

I am not sure what a nebulizer is so did a Google search. On one website I found the following:

"A new generation of nebulizers uses neither forced air (which is noisy) or ultrasound. These units are very small, battery operated, and silent."

Have you consulted with your doctors about this type? It sounds like something you could travel with. I found more on this site: http://www.portablenebs.com/ Perhaps this type is not best for your child's circumstances. In that case you can look in the Irish Golden Pages under Medical Equipment: http://www.goldenpages.ie

I hope that you can find what you need for your trip.

Michele
