Transportation from Dublin Airport

What is the best method of transportation (BUS or TAXI???)from the airport to Smithfield Village (Park Inn).  There will be 2 adults & 2children.  We arrive in the morning of June 22 (Thursday).

THANKS

Chris,

How old are the children? Do you have a lot of luggage? As I answered in another posting, sometimes it is better (for the sake of convenience) to spend a few euros more and just take a taxi especially when more than two people are involved.

Michele,

THANK YOU.  The children are 14 & 7.  If it is easier we will take a taxi.  What would the approximate cost from the airport to Smithfield Village area?  I know this will be an estimate.

Chris,

Probably around 30 euro. You can see a listing of fees here: http://www.dublincity.ie/living_in_the_city/getting_around/by_taxi/taxi_fares_in_the_dublin_taxi_meter_area.asp

This is an old post but I have a similar question.

I am going to take a bus into Dublin City Centre when I arrive at Dublin Airport. Going to Talbot Street (Days Inn). It is myself and my wife. We are taking the bus to the city for one day, staying the night and going back to the airport in the early morning.

I have found two bus companies that take you from the airport to the city. Should I take one over the other?

Air Coach

Dublin Bus

jedivader,

Either bus will work for you. If taking Air Coach you need to take the Ballsbridge/Donnybrook route to be left off at O'Connell Street, which is not far from Talbot Street.

This is what the Days Inn site suggests: "Public Transport from Dublin Airport. Take the Air coach bus from Dublin Airport to the city centre, get off the bus on O'Connell Street.  Walk towards the Spire, then turn left onto North Earl Street. Continue down into Talbot Street. Days Inn is located on the right hand side, just before the Irish Life Mall."
