Hi Everyone,

Good luck on this one to everyone else, although I'm a little perturbed it is not open to residents of Canada!

Deborah,

That's the pits! I didn't read the rules. I guess it is open to US citizens?

Yes, you must be from U.S. and I think it said 18 years of age.  I hope someone from this forum wins it!!!  That would be sooo cool!

It would be really great if someone from the forum wins...Hey, Michele, do you have any connections in the tourist office?

Irisheyesdreaming - if I win the contest, and Liam can't join me, you can come along as my guest! I love the idea of bringing a renegade Canadian travelmate who has been barred from the contest.

This has me thinking. I can't offer a free trip to Ireland, but I could record folks from the forum and feature them on the www.irishfireside.com podcast. If anyone is interested in sharing their fondest Ireland memory, have a favorite Irish recipe, can sing/play an Irish tune or have some other idea to include, drop me a line. I can accept just about any digital audio file or I could record over the phone.

I hope to hear from some of you. And this offer is open to EVERYONE. Even Canadians!

Corey, you made me laugh and thank you.  Yes this renegade Canadian would definitely go with you!  I think your idea about people sending in their favourite stuff to the irishfireside podcast would be great. Maybe I'll take a tape recorder when I go in Sept. and get someone to record me singing after a few too many Guinesses!!!  I reckon I'd have way too much fun doing it too!  How bout I rent a video recorder(wonder if that's possible?) over there and go the whole nine yards!?!?!

Corey,

I have a good idea for a reminiscence about a "character" I knew in Ireland. Perhaps my husband and I will do a segment. I will let you know. I have never let Barry kiss the Blarney Stone because he is already full of B.S. (that stands for Blarney Stone!). He did blow it a kiss once.

I agree that everyone here should enter the contest. It would be utterly fantastic if an IrelandYes community member won!
