Does the country shutdown around the time of Easter

I am trying to plan a trip to Ireland from March 29 - April 13, but Easter falls in the middle of my vacation. I was wondering would it be better to go at another time to avoid Easter so more sites would be open. I have heard that the week around Easter alot of things close and if this is case i can go earlier.

Matt,

Good Friday is the only day where many things are closed, including pubs and most restaurants. That would be a day to plan on a scenic drive and to make reservations at a hotel restaurant. I would not let it deter you from going when you want.
