Clonmacnoise via the Shannon

Hello, Michele, Bill, and the rest of the experts,

Husband and I shall be in the Athone area first week in June, 2007.  We have been to Clonmacnoise twice by car, and this time I am interested in seeing it, arriving from the Shannon via boat.  We are Seattle boaters (so could do what Bill did, lucky fellow!), but I am looking more for a day tour from either Athone or Shannonbridge.

Do you know of any day trips such as I've described?  I have perused the Ireland websites, but nothing seems to come up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bill, I have read your trip report concerning your boating "experience", and really enjoyed it, but our adventurious boating days are over, I fear.

Thanks for any input.

Helen

Helen,

There are cruises that you can take to Clonmacnoise. Check the following links:

I suggest you email them for more info and to be sure of the times, etc.

Thanks, Michele...Have sent off a couple e-mails and will let you know what I find out.

By the way, check out some of the links on that second website!
