Is there a dedicated board like this for Scotland anywhere?

I got such great help from the folks here on my trip this summer to Ireland, and wanted to thank all once again.

Our next trip is actually Maine/Nova Scotia in Summer 2007, but that won't be hard as we are staying with in-laws.

However, Summer 2008 will be a family/friend trip to Scotland - the Highlands and the Islands.  Does anyone know where there is a board like this, with a forum dedicated to Scotland travel?

Thanks!

Green Dragon,

There is a Scotland forum on Trip Advisor but I don't know of a small personal one like this for Scotland. Perhaps someone else will have a suggestion. Also a good Internet search may turn up something.

I was in Scotland about 10 years ago and had a great time (not my first trip -- just my last there). If you have an opportunity you must do the Isle of Skye. Be sure to stop at the public toilets near the ferry. It is worth the price of admission to visit them especially if the same guy is running them that gave me the grand tour. It was hillarious!

Movie to rent: Local Hero

Green Dragon:

In addition to Local Hero, you must see Braveheart, if only for the stunning scenery of the filming locations.  Interestingly (and this is why my post is on Michele's board), the movie was filmed in many places throughout IRELAND, not Scotland -- altho they did spend time in Highlands, Scotland.

For interested movie and Ireland buffs, these were the filming Locations for Braveheart (from the IMDB):

Ballymore Eustace, County Kildare, Ireland

Bective Abbey, County Meath, Ireland (London scenes)

Coronation Plantation, County Wicklow, Ireland

Curragh Plains, County Kildare, Ireland (Battle of Stirling Bridge)

Dunsany Castle, County Meath, Ireland

Dunsoghly Castle, County Dublin, Ireland (Edinburgh Castle)

King John's Castle, Trim, County Meath, Ireland

Sally's Gap, County Wicklow, Ireland

St Margarets, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland

The Curragh, County Kildare, Ireland

Trim Castle, Trim, County Meath, Ireland (York and London scenes)

And finally, they decided to shoot in Scotland:

Fort William, Glencoe, Highlands, Scotland, UK

Glen Nevis, Fort William, Highlands, Scotland, UK

Glencoe, Highlands, Scotland, UK

Loch Leven, Onich, Highlands, Scotland, UK
